A fire in Kota Bharu, Kelantan destroyed 10 residential houses and five shops on 9 November. 12 families who became homeless were given temporary shelter in a mosque nearby. Although they suffered great losses, it was fortunate that no casualty was involved. The next morning, Tzu Chi volunteers went to the fire scene regardless of the heavy rain. Apart from comforting the victims, emergency relief distribution of daily goods and financial aid were initiated to support them through the crisis.
