The 12th Ward Health Post in Lumbini, being the health post that receives the highest number of patients in Lumbini City, has worrisome environmental and sanitation conditions. Basic water supply issues had also persistently troubled the local villagers and staff at the health post. Tzu Chi volunteer team decided to excavate for groundwater at the vacant land adjacent to the health post and constructed Tzu Chi's first water pump in Lumbini. This search for water was an immensely challenging project.
